[FekLar]'s MP3 Clipping Tutorial

I Warn You now, Ptaak: These pages are not for antique machinery. A minimum of a Pentium-100 with 32 megs of RAM is required, and a minimum of a Pentium-200 with 64K of RAM is recommended. Even a P-300 can take 20 seconds or more to load and expand the images.

These pages contain AVI movies that have been translated into supercompressed animated GIF file images, and these images will expand in memory to about 2 megabytes each. There are four pages, and each contains an animation that contains 150 seperate images. The images are screen recordings of WinAMP for illustration purposes.

[FekLar] advises that if you run anything less than a P-300, you might want to disconnect your mIRC session, or anything else you might have running which is processor intensive. [FekLar] also advises that if you have another page displayed in another copy of your browser, to bookmark or save it case your browser chokes on these large images. [FekLar] highly recommends GIF Construction Set Professional, available from Alchemy Mindworks, which was used to convert and supercompress these movies into animated image files. The AVI movie files were originally 2 megabytes each, and supercompression knocked them down to a incredible 70K each. If you have a stone age P-90 or DX4-100, and you obtained these pages in a ZIP file, you can open the image files (scwnamp1.gif scwnamp2.gif scwnamp3.gif scwnamp4.gif) in GIF construction set to view the individual frames.
