Decay (or persistence) is a measure of the time required for the phosphor brightness to decay to 10% of its initial value after cessation of excitation. The quantitative counterparts are as follows:

VL  -  over 1 second
L  -  over 100 milliseconds to 1 second
M  -  over 1 millisecond to 100 milliseconds
MS  -  over 10 microseconds to 1 millisecond
S  -  over 1 microsecond to 10 microseconds
VS  -  1 microsecond or less

Notes:

  1. For improved contrast, pigmented variations are available.
  2. Particle size and color coordinate value variations are available to meet individual customer specifications.
